So, I've been studying Korean, and...
Here are your names transliterated into Korean (Hangeul, obvs, not Hanja), at least for those people who I think would be interested:

아미 – Amy (Ah-mee)
매다나 – Bethany (Meh-tah-nee)
어부 – Hope (Oh-pu)
거레나 – Karenna (Ka-hre-nah)
리자 – Lisa (Hle-sa)

If I didn't include you, comment (with your preferred name, if I don't know it) and I'll rectify the oversight!

I thought you'd appreciate that!

It doesn't really sound much like your name, though. Koreans would have a really hard time with your full name. You'd do better with Jack. :)

I am far too drunk to figure that out right now!

However, I will add it to my to-do list.

That's how I'd do it. ㅈ is "ch" instead of "J," but because you make it in the same labio-dental way, that's what I'd use. ㅏ is the right vowel sound. ㅋ is an aspirated K, which means it'd be pronounced K!h. The compound structure looks like this: 잨

xD my computer can't do that! Oh, dear, aspirated sounds - those gave me trouble in hindi. I was like, how much hhhh is too much hhhh!

(How is life?)

Thanks! I used to be able to write my name in Japanese, after I got back from my trip to Japan, but since it doesn't come in handy very often I've forgotten.

Look at me, reading (skimming) my flist. Where are those dumpling pictures?!!?

Mandu hates the camera flash! He gets so scared, it's adorable/sad.

Okay, so, I'm writing a The Office/30 Rock/This American Life crossover. Think you'll be able to beta? (You can say no. Real Life Business trumps Fake Internet Business.)

I second the need for dumpling pictures. Just light him otherwise and turn flash off!

Thanks! (Although you just totally blew a chance to make me think my name in Korean was something like "Dong-Chop," because I totally would have fallen for it.)

Well, that's just the transliteration. The translation is 닟쇄내, which is pronounced "The word 'gullible' is written on the ceiling."

I was actually just discussing your name the other day with my host mom. She was like, "What's your sister's name again?" And I was like, "Heather!" And she was like, "Khe...Khetra?" And I was like, "Um, yes! But she likes to go by Chase now." And she goes, "Oh. Good. Chais. But I like Khetra."

I like Khetra, too! But it's probably Russian for chlamydia, right? (Chlamydia is effing hard to spell, BTW.)

In Korea, I'm Chaseuh.
